HELLLLLO KIDDIES …I KNOW ITS BEEN A MINUTE SINCE I’VE POSTED SOMETHING *PAUSE* why was I typing in all caps? ok that ‘s much better. Back to the issue at hand. Tomorrow is like my favorite holiday: Go skateboarding day!!!  I celebrated last year and the year before that I even took off work just to go…skateboarding! Don’t get it wrong, this day is not for only those who skateboard. Its for anyone, if you love the sport as a spectator, if you’re like me: you just do it for fun, if your an aspiring skaeboarder, hell if you are a prof. or am. skateboarder, or hell if you just wanna blow ur responsiblities and go skateboarding, this day is for YOU!

What It’s All About: On June 21 skateboarders around the globe will celebrate the pure exhilaration, creativity, and spirit of one of the most infuential activities in the world by blowing off all other obligations to go skateboarding. OK, most skateboarders do this every day of their lives, but this is just one more reason to blow off your television/computer/video games and go skateboarding!

Skateboarders everywhere will show their love and support for skateboarding by holding fundraisers, contests, protests nad demos. They’ll skate across cities, gather in skateparks, stream into their local skate shop and some will even revel in the solitary act of skateboarding alone at their favorite spot, all bringing together the skateboarding community in the grind heard around the world.

The History: Go Skateboarding Day (GSD), held on June 21 every year, is the official holiday of skateboarding. The holiday began June 21, 2003 as an excuse for skateboarders to make skateboarding their top priority. Go Skateboarding Day began with a few simple skate sessions and bar-b-ques held in skateboarding’s unofficial capital, southern California.

Founded by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC), Go Skateboarding Day gives passionate skateboarders as well as those who are simply inspired by skateboarding, the opportunity to drop everything and get on a skateboard. GSD is a cooperative of decentralized events that take place around the globe. Skateboard retailers, manufacturers, skateparks, distributors, organizations and individuals of all colors, creeds, and attitudes hold skateboarding events to celebrate the holiday. Skateboarders around the world create their own events and traditions to celebrate skateboarding.

Go Skateboarding Day originated as the day for skateboarders to have fun, to raise awareness about the issues we face; to show the world what skateboarding is really all about; to reclaim our culture; and to define skateboarding as the rebellious, creative celebration of independence it continues to be. In the years since that first celebration, the holiday continues to grow, but the mission remains the same: Have fun, go skateboarding!

Nike Air Hoop Structure - Original Structure Triax Colorway

The Nike Hoop Structure is a new fusion Retro Basketball shoe that fuses the original Nike Air Structure Triax into a high cut sneaker that resembles something we may have seen from Nike Basketball in the early 1990’s. Here is the newest color that will be releasing in the Holiday season of this year, 2009. This colorway is actually identitical to that of the original Air Structure Triax. Eric Koston on Nike SB

YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! CONGRATS ERIC KOSTON!!!!

After much speculation, it’s finally official. World renowned skater Eric Koston is now a member of the Nike Skateboarding team.

Eric had this to say:  “Not only am I psyched to be a part of the great group of guys that makes up the Nike SB team, but I’m equally as excited to work with them creatively. I’m sure many people know that a lot of different Nike’s have been the inspiration for my shoe designs over the last 12 years, so I feel like a fucking kid in a candy store when it comes to this partnership between Nike and I.”

Safe to say, we’re extremely excited to see what comes of this. Nike SB has already released an Eric Koston signature t-shirt in an LA Lakers colorway. Have a look after the jump.

Osiris Fall 2009 Kicks

Osiris has been on their grind lately, pushing to get the brand back to it’s late 90’s era of notoriety. They’ve built up a burly team who are pushing their footwear development and have now released some looks at their Fall 09 line. Still a bit on the chunky side, the line is pretty dope overall with some particularly fly color combos in both the men’s and women’s models. Once again Osiris stays true to their heavy branding steez, but hey no one will ever mistake a pair for something else right? More collection highlights after the jump.
